In our attempt to
be faithful to the Holy Spirit, the Council of Parishes Upstate New
York exists to support all parish communities that are, have been,
or will be involved in the reconfiguration process - particularly in
the diocese of Syracuse, NY. We will devote our efforts to the
following objectives:
- The suspension of the present process for
closing churches.
- A thorough evaluation of the
Reconfiguration process.
- The development of a new process that is
based on options other than the closure of vibrant parishes, and
incorporates true collaboration with the laity involved in each
decision.
